How is your soul today? Meaning: Beyond the external of all you do on a daily basis, how is your heart and mind?
My heart is happy and beyond grateful, because this monthly update is truly an update I have been hoping to share for the longest with all partners and supporters in the mission's work God has called me in. I am blessed to love what I do daily at Crossover Church since 2013.
This month I want to talk about contentment in your season. God has us all somewhere and best believe that sometimes contentment does not come naturally to our human nature. Especially in a culture where there is always the latest and newest upgrade for clothing, entertainment, fashion and technology etc.
However, how can we enjoy God's blessings if we are always hoping and thinking about the "next thing"? We pray to God to bless us and then when He answers and provides do we stand still and celebrate truly and enjoy it? I have learned in 2016 two things: patience and contentment in where you are.
December 2014, I was accepted to serve as a full-time missionary with Christafari their music ministry and two years later due to immigration reasons I haven't stepped into this new ministry assignment yet.
Today, I can announce that as of October 2016, I have been APPROVED to obtain a green card resident status to continue to live in the USA starting 2017. Hallelujah Jesus!
I understand now that God was still preparing, maturing and pruning me for my next assignment. I am no longer trying to rush to get to the "next thing" constantly.
Enjoy the season that you are in and trust and believe that God has you there to serve others and to also grow you spiritually and relationally throughout it all.
Maybe your next thing is graduating, getting married, getting children or getting a new job etc. Please believe that God's timing is always, always, always perfect.
TODAY: Choose Contentment over Circumstances
Europe Mission Accomplished
Praise God for the thousands of decisions for Christ that Christafari has seen on the last mission trip to Europe. We had 12 outreach concerts within 7 countries and did 6 baptisms in Switzerland after one of our concerts.
Europe was a move from God truly. From planning, to arriving and to all the outreach concerts we did. If you prayed during this trip, I want to take a moment and thank you, for it is so needed and crucial when constantly on the go for the sake of ministry. If you financially supported and made it possible to send me over to Europe, I thank you for your generosity and the obedience of sowing into sending me as a missionary internationally into many nations. May each time you sow, be a step of faith and trusting in God multiplying it to reach all the people we serve.
Currently, I have arrived back into Tampa, FL where I will continue to serve full-time as a missionary at my home church Crossover Church where in 5 weeks we are having a urban leadership conference for pastors, leaders and ministers in urban ministry. Check out www.flavorfest.org for more details.
What can you pray for at this time?
1. Please pray for my immigration status, that I have been waiting on since January, 2016, which will allow me to continue to reside and work as a missionary in the USA. #PrayerStillWorks
Gracefully,
Nikita Carter
Embarking back to Europe August
Greetings from Tampa FL.
I am excited to share some upcoming things this month. I am literally 6 days away from flying on a 9 hour flight to Vienna Austria. I have the honor in the month of August to join alongside Christafari again this year. We literally are traveling from East Europe to West Europe. Some countries include Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, and the Netherlands (my hometown).
I invite you to join me on this journey and I want to let you know that this by far is expected to be one of the hardest mission tours this year. Hard, because we are traveling to 7 countries in 17 days. On top of that Europe is also known for the many atheistic nations that they are known for. Please know that your prayers before, during and after this trip are needed. We pray for hearts that will be softened and open to the message of Jesus Christ. That Jesus will be genuinely accepted instead of rejected. I am going to represent Jesus Christ with the Word, music, arts, praise and with my life, my time, my heart and I am asking Him what other form of generosity I can give.
What goes through my heart?
My heart is filled with excitement, zeal and passion to be able to go back to Europe, the place I spent 19 years of my life. But now I am going back as a devoted believer of Jesus Christ, I am different, my heart has changed, and the things that break God's heart break my heart now too. When I see how normal it is in Amsterdam to be in the business of prostitution, having marihuana shops and professing atheism I am only reminded of how many lives have yet to know about the grace, goodness and love of Jesus Christ.
So I have decided and say Lord, here I am. Send me, use me and let your Holy Spirit take over. Immerse the darkness with your light over entire Europe and on all the other continents.
What is some of the ministry work we plan to do?
We are seeking ministry and humanitarian events in all countries where we have outreach concerts. We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in 2016 by feeding the homeless, reaching out to the refugees, visit drug rehab centers, red light districts and prisons.
I am raising $3500 for this trip and have raised $880 today. If God calls you to send me out on this current mission. Please click here or share the cause with someone else:
